2010 MasterCraft X25
Reviewed by Richard Crowder

For over forty years, the MasterCraft name has been synonymous with pro tournament inboard tow boats. For 2010, MasterCraft is offering twenty-seven models in four series of which the X25 is brand new to the dazzling X-series.
Dubbed a brand new breed of wakesport boat, the X25 combines a new seating configuration and is built on the proven CSX 220 deep-vee hull designed to produce a rampy wake for wakeboarding and an epic curl for surfing.
The X25 has room for 16 persons and plenty of easy-access storage. The pickle fork bow design provides more room up front with two high-backed comfortable lounges with armrests. The optional filler cushion converts this area to a huge lounge. The driver gets to enjoy MasterCraft’s MasterView bolster bucket seat while cockpit passengers stretch out on a full-surround U-shaped lounge filling the entire balance of this area. In the centre of the transom backrest of this lounge, a flip-down section provides handy cupholders. More seating is provided from flip-up sections on the rear-facing portion of the sunpad. Access to the swim platform is made easy via a removable centre cushion from the top of the sunpad revealing a non-skid walkway beneath.
The active family will love the helm of the X25 as it features MasterCraft’s Boat Instrument Gauge (BIG) with a six-inch display of fuel, speed, temperature, and cruise settings. BIG also lets you set up and store many individual rider’s preferences for ballast and surf tabs, view footage from the optional tower camera, or even watch a DVD from the optional Clarion™ CMV1 entertainment system. The dash surrounding BIG is from billet aluminum with double-black, red-lit gauges. Aircraft style toggle switches and a new tri-spoke wheel complete the panel.
Construction of the X25 is 100% composite. Standard power is the MasterCraft Power Vortec RTP-1, 5.7 L multi-port EFI V-8 producing 310 HP. A three-tank ballast system is standard as is a ZeroFlex Flyer tower with built-in pivoting boardracks with clamps for four boards and swivel light. Options galore are available to totally personalize your boat to your own taste.
