Meet the newest member of the Lund family. Lund’s 1675 Crossover XS, at almost seventeen feet in length on a seven foot, eight inch beam, is the newest and smallest member of its three model Crossover XS family. It is one of over sixty models from twelve to twenty-two feet offered by Lund for 2014 in seventeen model series. Six of these models in two series are fibreglass boats. All others are riveted aluminum including an additional nine models of Jon boats from ten to eighteen feet.

Lund, a Brunswick Company, with facilities in New York Mills, Minnesota and Steinbach, Manitoba have come a long way since 1948 to provide almost every possible variation of dedicated fishing boat imaginable. But Lund is calling its Crossover series of three models the “S.U.V. of Fishing Boats” as a “do-it-all boat” and “the marine industry’s gift to anglers and their families.” In other words, the 1675 Crossover XS is intended from the get-go for use not only as a well equipped fishing boat to satisfy the most hard core angler, but also as a well equipped family boat suitable for cruising and a variety of watersports activities.

The 1675 Crossover XS is, in fishing terms, a dual console, or in family boating terms, a bowrider with full, curved wrap-around glass windshield with centre walk-thru and Lund has loaded this boat with dual purpose amenities. There is storage everywhere. The raised bow deck which may be optionally equipped with a choice of either a Minnkota or Motor Guide trolling motor, provides open storage under it.

The forward casting deck itself has an almost full length covered in-floor storage compartment on each side, ideal for fishing or family accessories such as tackle or deflated fun tubes, etc. Moving astern, on the cockpit floor level under the centre windshield opening is a covered dedicated rod locker which will accommodate five rods up to seven feet long or a pair of waterskis or a wakeboard. Within the passenger console is a large lockable glove box with a molded in knick-knack tray above.

Along both sides of the cockpit are almost full length (eight feet long on the portside), below gunnel storage areas with vinyl padded front bolstering. In the centre floor of the 1675 Crossover XS is another long and deep covered storage compartment suitable for either fishing rods up to eight feet long or waterskis, a wakeboard, or other long items such as collapsible boat hook or cleaning brush, etc. The rear casting deck has storage under each of the two standard fold down jump seats. In all, that’s a load of storage for a seventeen foot boat.

In addition to the aforementioned rear jump seats, the driver and passenger pedestal seats can be moved to three other base mounts provided on board: one on the bow casting platform, one on the rear platform and a third centred near the rear of the cockpit. Additional pedestal or butt seats are optionally available. Up front, standard padded backrests are located on the forward face of each of the consoles to provide comfortable lounging and bow cushions to convert the bow area for comfortable seating or a sunpad are also available.

An aerated, recirculating, 18 gallon, 37" long livewell with divider and waterproof light located in the centre of the rear casting deck is expected by the fisherman but also perfect for the family to keep beverages cool! The molded dash of the 1675 Crossover XS looks modern yet clean and functional with easy to read gauges plus room to mount any of the many optional Humminbird or Lowrance fishing and/or navigation electronics. The standard tilt steering has a new soft grip wheel. An integrated three-step transom boarding ladder is standard equipment.

Mercury 2 or 4-stroke outboard power of 90 or 115 horsepower is available with claimed approximate top speeds of each being 38 and 42 mph respectively, quite sufficient for most intended uses be that getting back and forth to the fishing holes or cruising or enjoying various watersports. The boat is rated for a maximum of six persons. Choose from a wide selection of optional accessories available from Lund to personalize your boat for your intended on-water activities. There are several trailer options, canvas enclosure and covering options, fishing accessories, plus many colour options from which to choose, etc., etc.

Good for both fishing and for family boating, the Lund 1675 Crossover XS could certainly be called, a boat for all reasons.
