larson lxh 190 ob

Referred to by Larson as its “newest daymaker,” the outboard powered LXH 190 OB joins its sister LXH 190 IO (sterndrive powered) as the only two LXH models that form part of Larson’s five model Sport Boats series ranging from nineteen to twenty-three feet. In all, Larson offers twenty-three models of bowriders, sport boats, cruisers, and fishing boats from sixteen to thirty-one feet plus another fifteen models of fibreglass pontoon boats from twenty to twenty-four feet.

Almost all fibreglass boats on the market today are built using the labour-intensive, hand laid, open mold process. While the larger Larson boats are still produced this way, for the past fifteen years all Larson boats up to 22-feet, including this new LXH series, utilize the closed-molded, patented, eco-friendly, computer-controlled VEC® (Virtual Engineered Composites) technology. The result is a one-piece hull with an integrated composite stringer and transom system.

For a bowrider having a centreline length of 18-feet, 9-inches, Larson has created a lot of usable space in the interior of the LXH 190 OB, especially noticeable in the bow seating area. The amount of space devoted to bow seating is proportionally greater compared to other eighteen – nineteen foot boats. Also, there is not one but two bow “pointy-ends” meaning the beam right at the bow is greater thus allowing even more seating and “elbow” room.

And Larson has used this increased bow seating space well with full surround U-shaped padded seating, all with finished storage below the seat cushions. In addition full substantial side bolstering with built-in stainless steel grabrails within what is a relatively deep cockpit, add a feeling of security when seated up front. More storage is found behind the padded helm backrest and folding armrests enhance stretch-out lounging.

In the main cockpit area, both the driver and passenger get to enjoy thickly upholstered high-back, reclining, swivel bucket “chairs,” each complete with flip-up bolsters. A comfortable three-seater stern bench seat extends from the port side across to the starboard side walk-thru over the transom to the stern deck and integrated dual swim platforms. More storage is found under the stern bench seat, on the stern deck, and within the transom walk-thru.

The driver’s helm of the LXH 190 OB is both functional yet attractive with a molded black central pod with “carbon foils” plus side pods with DC switches ergonomically tilted in toward the driver. Tilt steering is standard as are Faria instrumentation including tachometer, speedometer, fuel gauge, and hour meter. A USB port and a 12-volt accessory power plug are included.

The complimentary looking passenger dash includes a glove box into which may be flush-mounted one of the three optional choices of Humminbird fishfinder/GPS units. Built into the floor between the passenger and driver’s helms is a storage compartment suitable for watersports accessories such as waterskis, wakeboards, etc. Overall, the interior of the LXH 190 OB is attractive and sporty looking with its white upholstery with black accenting.

Power for the LXH 190 OB is your choice from 115 to 200 horsepower from your favourite of five choices of outboard manufacturer: Evinrude, Honda, Mercury, Suzuki, or Yamaha and in 2-stroke or 4-stroke depending on your choice. Hydraulic steering is standard from 150 horsepower and up.

Also standard equipment with this boat is a painted Shorelander 3400 pound capacity trailer with disc brakes, swing tongue, chrome rims and tie downs. Stainless steel pull-up cleats, 4-step boarding ladder, plus bow and cockpit covers are also standard as is an AM/FM stereo with Bluetooth connectivity plus MP3/iPod adapter and four speakers. Standard hull colour is white with a choice of three colours of boot stripe.

Notable optional equipment includes four choices of hullside colour bands plus another four choices of “Impulse” colour bands. You may also choose a wakeboard tower, ski tow pylon, bow boarding ladder, anchor roller, bow filler cushion, bimini top, depth finder, snap-in carpet or mat plus teak or grey Sea Dek mat for the stern deck and swim platform. You may also want to add hydraulic steering to your choice of outboard if less than 150 horsepower.

A Premium Sound Package includes Polk audio with remote, lighted speakers and a kicker subwoofer. A Ski & Fish Package includes a recirculating livewell, bow casting seat, Sea Dek bow wrap, tackle box, 24-volt trolling motor, and a trailer upgrade. You can also upgrade the standard trailer to a galvanized one.

Larson refers to its two-model LXH series as “A whole new attitude in boating.” They’re worth checking out.
