Formula’s all new for 2017 430 SSC (Super Sport Crossover) is different. Different in that it is not just a bowrider, not just a center console, not just a performance cruiser, and not just a luxurious express cruiser/overnighter but a rare combination of the best of all four configurations in one incredibly designed and laid out package.

First, as a bowrider, the 430 SSC features a C-shaped modular bow seating area including triple-wide forward facing seating with dual armrests. Within this are two powered, adjustable-height bow tables which when lowered, support the standard filler cushions to create a huge sunpad/lounge. There is storage beneath all seat cushions plus twin molded-in coolers. A standard bow sun shade protects from sun and mild inclement weather.

As a performance cruiser, the 430 SSC shines. From a performance perspective, standard power is four Mercury® Verado® 300 hp outboards – properly called “quads.” You can upgrade to quad Verado® 350’s, or go all the way to quad Mercury Racing® Verado® 400’s. Now you’re talking 1,600 horsepower! All of these engine choices include Mercury’s® Joystick Piloting system. The 430 SSC rides on Formula’s proven high performance FAS³TECH stepped hull with foam-filled continuous molded structural grid. But this is not your normal narrow-beam high performance boat. The 430 SSC offers a very cruiser-like twelve foot beam.

The luxurious express cruiser/overnighter configuration of the 430 SSC is evident throughout the boat. Starting with day-use aspects, aft of the helm is a most generous U-shaped lounge complete with a powered, adjustable-height table with filler cushions to create a sunpad/lounge. Behind this is an aft-facing lounge with multi-position backrest. Opposite on the port side is a longitudinal lounge/couch.

Forward of this lounge on the port cockpit side is a cockpit galley with sink, Corian countertop, pullout refrigerator plus a galley pantry with a door-mounted Cuisinart blender. Standard cockpit flooring is woven mat. Blue/white LED courtesy lighting with remote control serves the cockpit and massive swim platform area.

The helm of the 430 SSC is modern, functional, and gorgeously finished as only Formula can do it. Triple individual sit, stand, or rest position helm and companion seats each with individual power-adjustable footrests face a molded composite dash with liquid black panels. Standard equipment includes Mercury® Digital Throttle and Shift (DTS) controls, Mercury® SmartCraft® VesselView®, Mercury® Joystick Piloting for Outboard (JPO) with active trim, and digital switching via a helm-mounted dedicated Raymarine® gS95 display with wireless iPad control.

Add to all that, twin Raymarine® eS128 GPS widescreen colour chartplotters with digital depth sounder, Mercury® Theft Deterrent System, Bennett® trim tab controls with indicators, remote spotlight control, electric anchor windlass remote control with digital chain counter, VHF radio, and a Rockford Fosgate AM/FM stereo with iPod/USB port, Bluetooth, dash-mounted colour display plus a transom remote control. Beneath the helm is a pullout Yeti® Tundra® 35 cooler.

Covering the helm and cockpit seating area is a coupe-style hardtop with side wings and a motorized glass sunroof with retractable sunshades. A Sunbrella® aft cockpit enclosure is standard equipment. A cabin door leads a few solid wood steps down to the 430 SSC’s cabin with 6’6” headroom. Here, an Ultraleather™ V-berth lounge/dinette with powered adjustable-height gloss wood table with filler cushions converts to a forward berth.

The mid-cabin berth features a queen-size Sensus® memory foam bed plus a 32” LED/LCD/HDTV with Blu-ray player with WiFi and remote stereo control. Portside cabin storage includes a pullout Vitrifrigo® stainless steel refrigerator plus a cedar-lined hanging locker. The starboard side galley with dove-tailed drawers includes a Corian® countertop, sink, electric stove, microwave, and blender. A built-in WalVac® sweeper system is standard as is reverse cycle air conditioning/heating. The molded private head compartment includes a vanity, VacuFlush® head and wet shower.

Other standard equipment on the 430 SSC includes a 10 kW Kohler generator and Glendinning motorized shorepower cord extender and retractor with remote control. Notable optional equipment includes bow thruster, docking lights, underwater lighting, a concealed SureShade ATF™ electric power retractable sun shade, reverse cycle cockpit air conditioning, radar, Raymarine® electronics upgrades including a T303 thermal camera, cockpit electric grill, cockpit TV, a Seakeeper® 5 gyro stabilization system and an automatic outboard flushing system.

In Formula’s own words, the 430 SSC is “a transformative adventure where boaters truly can have the best of all worlds.”
