glastron gt 185

Glastron’s GT 185 is the smallest in its six model Bowrider series, which come in four lengths from eighteen to twenty-four feet. All models are available with sterndrive and two with outboard power. Each of these six is also offered with a GTS designation as an upgrade package that includes exterior and interior enhancements. The GT 185 is sterndrive powered.

Glastron, once one of the largest, if not the largest pleasure boat manufacturer in North America with a legacy spanning over sixty years. They offer a total of twenty models (plus the GTS variants) from eighteen to twenty-four feet in four series including Deck boats, Ski and Fish, three Surf models with Forward Drives, plus the Bowrider series.

All Glastron's ride on its proprietary Super Stable Vee® (SSV) deep-vee hull design featuring wide reverse chines to aid planing, tracking, and stability that extend further forward than normal. In a nod to its heritage, the two-tone hullside colour schemes of all Glastrons, but especially noticeable in the GTS hullside graphics, revive the “spear” design for which Glastron was so recognizable and famous. Even the sportier windshield design is a further nod to their heritage.

The GT 185 has a sporty layout with a pair of adjustable, swivel ComfortRide high back bucket seats with side bolstering and forward flip-up bolsters for the driver and front passenger. A comfy three or cozy four-place stern bench seat completes the cockpit seating. Full surround bow seating with coaming and console-face padded backrests provide stretch-out lounging for two or seating for three.

Carpeted storage is found beneath all three bow seat cushions, with more storage beneath the port and starboard stern bench seat cushions, there’s also a large built-in draining cooler beneath the centre stern seat cushion. Cockpit sidewall storage is provided by a large compartment on the port side beneath the transom sundeck and a second built-in cooler beneath the starboard sundeck. A finished in-floor watersports accessory storage compartment with mat is located between the driver and passenger seats.

The helm console of the GT 185 pays homage to Glastron’s glory days with its two custom large diameter multi-function, fog resistant digital gauges housed in recessed chrome-rimmed “tubes.” The padded eyebrow over the dash curves up and over each of these two gauges to give the dash a classic look. Normal sterndrive instrumentation includes an hour meter and GPS speedometer. The tilt sporty steering wheel is flanked by unique pull-knob DC switches and carbon fibre panels provide accenting.

The head unit for the standard AM/FM stereo with Bluetooth® compatibility, auxiliary input, and a pair of speakers is protected behind the lockable lid of the passenger console glove box. Within this glove box are a 12-volt DC power outlet and a pair of USB ports. As with the driver’s console, this passenger console is gloss black with added carbon fibre accenting.

The hinged starboard side cushion of the transom sundeck raises to create an athwartship comfortable single or cozy two person lounge. The integrated swim platform has a recessed telescoping boarding ladder. A transom ski tow eye is provided and the rub rail is standard stainless steel. A Glastron® Custom-matched bunk trailer is also standard as is your choice of four two-toned hull colours and four interior upholstery colour schemes. Power is available from either MerCruiser or Volvo® sterndrives from 200 to 250/240 horsepower.

Notable options include a Premium Sound Package with a transom remote, Kicker® subwoofer, lighted speakers, and an interior XL Package in Ash or Dune which includes pull-up cleats, stainless steel upgrades to the grab handles and cupholders, a bow scuff plate, in-dash depth gauge with water temperature readout, and removable reed mat flooring.

The optional low to the water extended swim platform can be accented in espresso/teak, tan, or titanium mat(s). Watersports activities are welcome with the hinged folding wakeboard tower to which you can add a pair of board racks. Sunbrella® bow, cockpit, and bimini top are available, as is a change room with the wakeboard tower. A Premium upgraded steering wheel is also available as are bow fill-in cushions, automatic fire extinguishing system, removable reed mat flooring as an individual option, and trailer and engine accessory upgrades.

The Glastron GT 185 is a modern visual iteration of Glastron’s heritage while incorporating the latest in fibreglass and boat building technologies.
