This lightly used custom West Coast cruiser was built by Specialty Steel fabricators located in Armstrong, BC for the family of the famous cheese company.  She has been used in fresh water for approx, 90% of her life and thoroughly washed down after use in salt water including the Shoreland'r triple axle trailer which has electric over hydraulic brakes and a spare tire.

She features a single Volvo Penta D6 - 350hp diesel engine with only 211 hours and a top end speed of 40 Knots with a gorgeous custom interior cabin with National 2000 Suspension Captains Chairs, Standard Horizon navigational electronics, fully enclosed private head, cuddy cabin forward, full canvas enclosed large cockpit, and Panther remote steering for the Honda 15hp 4- stroke OB Auxiliary with less than 20 hrs. The interior and exterior features gorgeous Indigenous artwork and carvings.  The large cockpit and cabin come at the expense of a relatively small cuddy cabin.

Currently located in Mosquito Creek Marina's boat yard for viewing.  The Owner would prefer to sell the customized trailer with the boat but willing to sell separately for CAD $20,000.

The Designer (Rick Welin) of Metalboatkits is based in Richmond, BC and they ship the CNC kits all over the world and they are independently fabricated such as the case with the Alaska 275, which was done by Specialty Steel Fabricators, a high tech machine shop based in Armstrong, BC.  The owner toured the facility and was very impressed as they have top Engineers, Welders, and Machinists and their primary business is supplying the aircraft industry with specialty parts certified by the Gov’t.

The Designer shared the following comments on this particular vessel;

“John at Specialty is one of the most conscientious builders I have ever worked with. His skills and attention to detail are top of the heap.   I’d buy this boat in a heartbeat!  You won’t find a better built west coast aluminum cabin cruiser.   For use on the west side of Vancouver Island I can say that should not be a problem at all. The boat has a low center of gravity and was designed for use in Alaska in the Bering Sea. So the aluminum structure can handle it. The main thing to keep an eye on is hatches, doors, and windows to make sure they are solid.   For performance, yes the report of 40 knots top speed by the seller seams accurate.   The original selling price from Specialty Steel was just under $300k Canadian Dollars”

Specialty Steel Fabricators took 4 years to build the boat. The boat with full fuel and water is 9,600lbs.  The trailer is 2,250lbs.  The Owner towed it with his Ford 450 but he has a camper on it and reported that a 250 can tow the boat.  Capacity for the trailer is 15000 lbs and was custom built for the boat and should stay with it.  Overall length of the boat and trailer is 39 feet and overall length of the boat is 33 feet.  The Study Plan for this model is available upon request.
