Iridium has well engineered and installed safety features. She is equipped with a 6 person Zodiac life raft and life sling. She is also equipped with a satellite telephone, Single Sideband radio with Pactor modem, AIS with both receive and transmit capabilities along with a mast mounted fog-horn and hailer. The rear lifeline gates open for easy retrieval and there is a permanently mounted man over-board ladder that can be lowered from the water.
The engine is a 2009 4JH4-TE Yanmar diesel with 1450 hours. The engine propels the boat at 6 knots at 2200 RPM, with a maxium speed of 8 knots at 3300 RPM. The fuel burn is 1 GPH at cruise and 1.8 GPH at top speed. The engine access is excellent from all sides. There are dedicated lights for ease of maintenance of engine, transmission and generator. With her 172 gallon fuel capacity this yacht has a cruising range of 700 miles under power alone..
The galley is located to starboard of the companionway. It is well organized and combines lots of accessible counter space while still providing the cook with the security of a compact "U" shaped cooking station. There is a Grunert 120 Volt refrigerator with top and bottom access. On the port side of the salon is a large Grunert 120 Volt freezer with the same practical luxury of two doors.
The Force 10 propane stove has 3 burners, oven and solenoid and was new in 2009. Above and slightly forward of the stove is a Spacemaker II Microwave. The deep double stainless steel sinks are connected to a 10 gallon hot water heater.
Lots of storage for pots and pans, cooking utensils, small appliances and food is available in multiple drawers and lockers.
There is an abundance of natural light from the screened opening port lights and overhead hatches. The interior is beautifully finished with cherry combined with genuine teak and holly floor. To starboard and aft is a well thought out galley with ample space.
The salon has a flat screen TV on a moveable bracket on the port side bulkhead. Between the opposing settees is a drop leaf table with built in storage for cutlery and bottles. Above, behind, and below the settees is an abundance of storage. The two settees convert to one single and one double berth.
Port forward of the salon is the guest head with shower and vanity. Across from it is a bank of drawers and a hanging locker.
The guest cabin V-berth is generously sized and will comfortably sleep two six foot sailors. It has both two sets of drawers and two cedar lined hanging lockers for storage.
On the port side aft of the main salon is a full-sized navigation station with lift up desk for charts, navigation tools etc. Above it are the main radar, VHF, SSB, Pactor Modem and Sat phone. On the bulkhead in the passageway aft is the electrical control panel. Below it three doors open to provide excellent access to the well-lit engine room which also contains the Westerbeke 8kw generator and Aqua drive.
Continuing aft is the owner's stateroom with a queen sized centerline bed with custom mattress and walk around access. Opening ports and overhead hatches in this roomy cabin provide plenty of light and fresh air. A second flat screen TV is mounted on the rear bulkhead. The cabin has variable speed fans and ample locker and drawer space with a large lighted cedar lined hanging locker and a full length mirror.
Off the owner's master cabin is a private head with vanity and stand alone full sized shower. Sound isolation from the master cabin to the salon is excellent and there is ample headroom throughout the yacht.
