This 40’ beauty will also double as a very comfortable LIVE-ABOARD. Hand crafted to a design by Jay Benford, she will take you anywhere on the coast, safely and comfortably at 71/2 knots. K’an is a sloop rigged motor-sailor powered by a 60 hp Gardner Diesel with wooden superstructure and solid fiberglass hull with full keel and rounded canoe stern. She is remarkably sea-worthy, stable, and comfortable in any weather with full head-room throughout. The spacious heated wheel-house is accessed through doors on each side. You can pass aft into the Grand Salon, or forward into the sleeping quarters. The wheelhouse has excellent 360 degree visibility which allows indoor helming in BC’s often cool weather. The wide and low side decks contained by substantial bulwarks provide easy access to dock-side or dinghy and make for safe working of the ship and sails. The aft deck and foredeck are great for lounging in the sun or outdoor meals. Spacious accommodation in the aft Salon and the excellently located and laid out well equipped galley offer cozy and comfortable lounging and dining. Forward you will find two double beds in the separate cabins. The Head has a tub/shower. Lots of storage space. She had cruised on this coast widely – the Broughtons, West Coast of VanIsle, Haida Gwaii, and everywhere in between.
