Description

Rare Freshwater only - Endeavour Corporation 30’ MK II Sailing Catamaran

TUSK was named by her culinary owners as The Ultimate Sailing Kitchen with nearly 10 feet of counter in her well equipped galley. She is a roomy cottage at the dock or underway with an easy sail plan including: a self tacking jib and a Volvo diesel in each hull. Wide flat decks, enormous storage lockers, a separate shower stall and two aft double berths with air conditioning will keep your Admiral happy! Her shallow draft and large tanks make her ideal for a run to warm weather over winter or an extended summer holiday. She is capable of 6+ knots in a breeze or you could store the mast and cruise the 1000’s of canal miles beginning in the Thousand Islands region. Numerous upgrades include: a new bottom, LED lighting, autopilot, batteries, battery monitor, winter cover and canvas. At only 14 ½ feet wide– we’ve had no problem finding dockage. Why be heeled when you can do it all flat on a cat. This boat has seen freshwater only. She is clean, smoke free and has received light usage - some seasons she never launched.

Construction

The hull, deck and structural bulkheads are manufactured of biaxial fibreglass with isophthalic, vinyl-ester resins (vacuum bagged) and NidaCore (polypropylene honeycomb) core. The hull to deck joint is fastened chemically and mechanically.  Twin fibreglass molded keels are foam filled with collision zones forward and built-in integral sumps. Twin foam filled balanced rudders on stainless steel shafts are mechanically tied together.  The port rudder was replaced in 2015.  After change of ownership in 2015 - the hull was blasted to remove existing hard antifouling paint. This was replaced with 4 coats of Interprotect 2000E overtop of original epoxy to which 3 coats of Petit Horizons ablative anti-fouling paint was applied. The base coat colour is green to act as a marker coat. A tiny area of VC17 was installed on the stern ends to keep swimmers and the dinghy clean. VC17 can easily be removed should the boat be moved to salt water.

Sails & Rig

The fractional sloop rig utilizes a large roach Dacron (UK brand) 4 batten mainsail on a deck stepped, anodized aluminum mast and boom.  A solid boom vang supports the boom and it is fitted with a dutchman boom brake.  A Dacron (UK brand) battened jib on a Camber Spar™ is completely self-tacking for easy course changes. The “tri-stay” rig of stainless steel wire rope has no back stay. The Quinte Canvas main sail cover was new in 2018. The main sail has single line reefing (new in 2019) and the main halyard was replaced in 2016. All lines are colour coded and lead aft to the cockpit. There are two clutch blocks in front of 2 self-tailing Harken #40 two speed winches.  Two winch handles and generous line boxes keep the cockpit tidy.
