The MV Ariadne was custom designed and built by master shipbuilder Dick Smith of Kaslo Shipyard.  Seaworthiness being top of mind, this beautiful steel vessel is built to last.  With ¼” steel hull plating over 2”x ¼” angle bar framing, she can offer many years of worry-free cruising.

The spacious wheelhouse features large windows all around and a big comfy bench for panoramic viewing.  At the custom-made steering wheel, all the controls and navigation equipment are at the skipper’s fingertips.  There is a chart table, storage shelves, new LED searchlight, a custom made pull out double bed and easy access to the upper and lower decks.  Forward of the wheelhouse is more deck space and two access hatches.  One is a secondary access to the forward bunks and the other is a large storage space.

Step down into the large galley done in tongue and groove pine paneling. A four-burner stove with oven, fridge, sink, on-demand hot water and ample counter space make cooking and entertaining a pleasure.  The dining table seats 6 comfortably and folds up to make room for another custom-built double bed.  There is tons of storage and closet space for bedding, clothing and supplies.

The ship features a clean and roomy bathroom with flush toilet, shower, sink, vanity and towel racks.  Forward of the galley there are two single bunks with more storage drawers and lots of extra room.  There is an aft-cabin bedroom with two more large bunks with reading lamps.

The massive walk-in engine room is a delight.  It is equipped with a work-bench, vise, and tool chests,  and there is plenty of room for more storage or to add extra custom gear if desired.  All equipment is easy to access and work on.

The large after-deck is a great space for a group of anglers to haul in the big ones, using the custom-made rod holders and downrigger plates.

The spacious upper deck has lots of room for 12 or more people.  Perfect for lounging in the sun and visiting.  It features a dinghy with winch, and there is room for extra kayaks, paddle boards, etc.

The lower deck allows the crew access to the entire perimeter of the vessel, which makes for easy docking/beaching.  There is also a custom-built swim ladder for dips in the lake.

The vessel has been recently dry-docked for inspection.  All underwater running gear has been determined to be in excellent condition.  She’s been meticulously maintained, recently dry-docked and painted top to bottom. She's ready to go!
