8.7 Hughes Columbia 1981

This is a great reliable family cruiser that can be used as a good coastal or inland cruiser.  It has a very large interior for its size, with head room inside of 6.3 feet. The Hughes Columbia was designed by Australian America's Cup designer Alan Payne and was classified as a wide body super cruiser. This boat is known for its wine glass shaped transom.  This boat is very balanced while under sail, as the wine glass transom creates a fairly symmetrical water plane.  This boat has been professionally stored each winter and protected from the elements. It is currently docked at Confederation Basin Marina in Kingston, Ontario and is ready to sail away.  Our reason for selling is simply because we are looking at bigger sailboats to fit our growing family! However, we may not get such a reliable diesel engine again!
