Allied Yachts Company built 161 Allied Seawind 30' ketches between 1962 and 1982. Moxie is hull number 128 and was constructed in 1969 in Catskill, NY out of ½" thick hand-laid fiberglass and has a full, encapsulated keel with 4,200 lbs of poured lead for ballast. The ketch rig with semi-full keel is easy to sail and well balanced even in the stiffest breeze. Designed by Thomas Gillmer, the Allied Seawind ketch is the first fiberglass constructed yacht to circumnavigate the world. There have been countless other Seawinds that have also completed multiple circumnavigations. These voyages and longevity on the water have given her a solid reputation as a soundly constructed and proven seaworthy blue water cruising sailboat.

Hull number 128, Since acquiring her from the previous owner in 2018 I have redone the electrical, the Mizzen mast step, replaced and relocated all chain plates, replaced entire anchor ground tackle with oversized 3/8 chain. Interior cushions were replaced with 5” foam and recovered with sunbrella fabric in 2022. Moxie is in need of some minor interior cosmetic care but is in turnkey condition and very comfortable inside. Sails are in great shape and have plenty of life left in them.

Main sail, original is well looked after and genoa is new 2021, with matching sunbrella completing her “at bed” style and always the best looking boat at any anchorage. Mizzen also great shape.Her hull is sound and the engine practically unused.
