Classic Albin 25 with a Volvo MD17C 35 hp diesel motorsailer, set up for motoring, comes with full mast, sails, furler and rigging hardware. Rescued last year in poor condition as a project. All the expensive work is done but still needs some more TLC. Tandem roller trailer, in good condition with new tires and wheels. Telescoping 8’ extension tongue. Buyer has two choices; spend the rest of the summer onsite refinishing the top decks or launch now and go boating right away. Slip is paid until end of season.
Top deck is badly worn but sealed, and can be painted as is. Most deck hardware is removed and holes epoxy sealed to prevent further rain infiltration. Included dehumidifier ran all last year and interior is now fully dry and leak free. Diesel Volvo tested spring 2025 and runs well. Plumbing is 95% done, electrics are 85% done, wood trim 75% done.
All interior cushions are in very good condition with lots of extra fabric. Some teak trim has been revarnished, a bit more to do. 3 new solar vents and interior tints on windows help control summer heat. Cockpit has metal frame sliders with screens and all tarps are brand new. Convertible soft top to stand up for easier docking. Brand-new captain’s seat. Noco 2x2 smart charger and 1 new battery. Second is still good. Windlass with bow and helm controls. Stern has an excellent swim platform.
Above waterline hull has been professionally prepped and now has 2 coats of Interlux Toplac grey marine paint. Below waterline will be repainted soon...stay tuned.
New fenders, lines, winter tarps, all original gear including manuals, 1978 parts list, design/setup drawings, original factory plates, wiring diagram in Swedish and English, and a beautiful bronze 3 blade propeller. Solid aluminium stanchions make for secure moving about on deck. Everything needed to motor, sail or fix up is included or available.
Quote from Albin Owners Group: The Albin 25 is in fact a "Goldilocks" boat, not too big, not too small, solidly built and seaworthy with standing headroom in the main cabin and pilot house, comfortable if compact accommodations for long term cruising for two or weekending for four, and easily trailerable with a 3/4 ton tow vehicle without the hassle of wide load permits. What other boat can a couple spend six weeks aboard for a summer in the Pacific Northwest and BC Canada and two months the next on the Erie Canal, Long Island Sound, and Chesapeake Bay? And do it all with 13 NM per gallon/ 1/2 gallon per hour at 6.5kts diesel fuel economy.
