This 2000 Hunter 340 that has been well maintained and is in excellent shape. I have upgraded many items to keep her reliable and feeling new.

Dockage for the season has been paid at Lasalle Marina in Burlington Ontario, and I expect arrangements can be made with a new owner if you wish to keep her there.

Summary

Here are a few links to more information on the boat, and a review:

This particular boat is equipped with Selden in-mast furling and an overhead traveller which were options at the time of order. Also, this boat has the stainless steel arch, which tends to age better than the older ones with the fibreglass arch.

Sails

The Hunter 340 is easy and predictable to sail. Everything can be controlled from the cockpit. Reefing is straightforward with the furling main and jib. There are two sets of identical sails which are in good shape. An asymmetrical spinnaker makes downwind sailing easy, and a sock makes it easy to deploy and retrieve.

Under Power

The Hunter is easy to handle in the marina, with responsive steering and ample power. Prop walk is predictable, and she backs well. She cruises at 6 knots under power if you lose the wind. The engine is a 27 horsepower Yanmar 3GM30F.

Cabin

Inside, the layout is bright, modern and spacious. The sleeping quarters are good, especially the aft cabin which offers a queen size bed. The galley is well equipped with a propane stove top and oven, microwave, good size sink, top loader fridge and easy access to garbage. There is lots of storage and drawers. The head is large with a built-in shower. I upgraded the toilet to an Airhead composting unit to avoid pumpouts, but a new owner can convert it back easily as the black water tank is still in place. Let me try to convince you on the many benefits of composting toilet first though. A shower sump ensures the water doesn’t run into the bilge.

Cockpit

The cockpit is a standout feature, with lots of space when under sail and when sitting at anchor with guests. There is a fold out table, and two seats up high either side which are a favourite. The walk out transom makes boarding easy, and it's comfortable when swimming. A warm shower just inside of the transom awaits you after a swim, which is almost always a necessity on Lake Ontario. The dodger/bimini canvas is in good shape. The cockpit can be fully enclosed for buggy anchorages, and windows roll down for when it's wet, keeping the cockpit dry. All hatches have bug nets, and there is a magnetic entry bug net for the main companionway.

Instruments

The boat is equipped with Raymarine depth sounder, knot meter, wind instrument, and autohelm, all of which are in working order. I do not have a fixed chartplotter as I use Navionics on a tablet, but there is space available and a Seatalk connection nearby should you wish to install one.

Electrical

The boat is upgraded with 400W of solar panels and an MPPT controller, 4 AGM 100Ah batteries and a Victron battery monitor. I have also replaced the VHF radio with a Standard Horizon GX1400GB with GPS position readout.

Engine Maintenance

I have spent considerable effort over the last two years to ensure the engine will remain reliable for years to come. This includes servicing the injectors, removing and cleaning the air intake manifold, replacing the mixing elbow, performing a valve adjustment, replacing all cooling hoses, servicing the fuel pump and replacing the cutlass bearing. All fluids and filters are changed regularly.  I have a variety of spare parts that I will include including a new starter motor, fuel lift pump, filters, impeller and a variety of useful bits and pieces.

The boat comes with a 7-pad cradle and a fitted cover with frame.

I have a survey from 2021 which I can offer to review for serious buyers.
