Larson’s Sport Boats series for 2017 includes two sterndrive “LSR” models in twenty and twenty-three feet and four “LXH” models in nineteen, twenty-one, and twenty-three feet, two of which are outboard powered and two of which, including this all new LXH 230 IO, have the “IO” designation referring to “Inboard-Outboard” or sterndrive powered.

The bows of the LSR Sport Boats taper forward to a single point whereas the LXH Sport Boats, like this LXH 230 IO, taper less toward the bow which is more squared off at the gunnels thus providing increased bow seating accommodation. These LXH Sport Boats have higher freeboard too for greater safety and are ideally suited for watersports fun.

This new LXH 230 IO is intended, with its complement of standard equipment, to provide you all you need in a sport boat bowrider suitable for cruising, watersports, or simply exploring. Its relatively short option list will allow you to really exercise its watersports intentions plus offers some of the comfort upgrades to make your time on the water that much more enjoyable.

White is the standard hull colour to which you get to choose either Black or Grey accenting striping. The standard interior upholstery vinyl is white with Carbon accent colour. Full wrap-around seating with surrounding back bolsters including bolstering on the forward surfaces of the helm and passenger consoles complete with flip-down armrests to facilitate forward-facing lounging, fills the bow area.

Finished storage compartments are found beneath the bow seat cushions and more storage is found behind the backrest cushions on the front of both helm consoles. A handy stainless steel safety grab rail is recessed within the bolstered bow side coamings. An in-floor storage compartment with carpeted floor and suitable for larger items such as waterskis, wakeboards, etc. is located between the two helms beneath the opening center section of the walk-thru windshield.

Driver and passenger are treated to high-back adjustable recliner chairs with flip-up forward bolster seat bottoms and armrests. A comfortable three-seater stern bench seat with storage beneath completes the seating accommodation in the LXH 230 IO leaving space for the starboard side transom walk-thru to the cockpit from the molded integrated swim platform. This platform is complete with recessed and covered telescoping stainless steel boarding ladder. A double wide aft sundeck extends behind the stern bench seat.

The driver of the LXH 230 IO is offered a tilting sport steering wheel behind which is a molded dash with a vinyl-wrapped eyebrow and complete with two large chrome-rimmed gauges for tachometer and speedometer plus gauges for trim, fuel, oil, temperature, and volts, all on an instrument panel with brushed silver foils accenting. An optional digital depth sounder is available.

Also on the dash is the standard equipment Bluetooth compatible Rockford Fosgate stereo with MP3/IPOD Port Adapter plus USB Port and four speakers. A 12-volt power outlet is also provided. The passenger side console has the same look as the driver’s side with the vinyl-covered eyebrow and features a lockable glove box with the same brushed silver foils accenting as the driver’s side.

The LXH 230 IO also comes standard with stainless steel pull-up cleats, four stainless steel cupholders, stainless steel speaker grills, ski tow hook, and a painted Shoreland’r swing-tongue trailer complete with disc brakes and retractable tie-downs. Various trailer upgrades are optionally available.

Your choice of Mercury sterndrive power in 4.5 L, 200 or 250 horsepower with an Alpha outdrive, or a 6.2 L MPI with 300 horsepower and a Bravo 3 outdrive are all available. Notable optional features include a bimini top or an Xtreme wakeboard tower with racks and with or without a bimini top. With this wakeboard tower you may now choose from four possible audio upgrades for the tower.

Even with or without the tower you can upgrade the boat’s stereo system a couple of ways. You may also want snap-in cockpit carpeting or even snap-in Seagrass Mat as a floor covering. Also available is a bow filler cushion and a bow-mounted boarding ladder with a hinged cover.

As Larson says, the all-new LXH 230 IO has “Room for everyone and performance on its mind.”
