Boat Review by: Richard Crowder
The 370EX is indeed the flagship of the Rinker Boat Company and as such, the largest of this builder’s five models of express cruisers starting at twenty-seven feet. Rinker also offers fourteen models of both outboard and sterndrive powered bowrider, cuddy cabin, and watersports boats from seventeen to thirty feet.
As Rinker’s flagship model and in living up to Rinker’s statement of providing, “the best value for cruiser enthusiasts,” the 370EX has an unusually comprehensive list of standard features and consequently a relatively shorter list of available factory options.
And again, Rinker’s heritage of providing roomy interior accommodation is exemplified in the 370EX with maximum cabin headroom of almost seven feet. This coupled with the full twelve foot beam provides a very open, airy feeling in the cabin. Sleeping accommodation for six adults is provided within this cabin.
Up front, an island pedestal berth with “Dual Easy Access” features a memory foam mattress, zipper-fitted custom mattress cover and pillow package in two choices of designer fabric – blue or neutral. A hanging locker, direct and indirect lighting, storage compartments, opening screened portlights and overhead hatch plus a privacy curtain completes this forward stateroom. This curtain may be optionally upgraded with a bulkhead and privacy door.
In the main cabin, a starboard side full-length couch with solid wood table converts to a double berth. Opposite, the galley features a solid surface counter top in White Stone with a two-burner electric stove, large 4 cubic foot stainless steel refrigerator, microwave, sink, plus walnut cabinetry. This cabin also offers hardwood flooring, air conditioning/heating, central vac, and flatscreen TV, all standard equipment. The only available options here is a TV upgrade to a 32-inch model, plus a built-in safe.
Aft of the galley on the cabin port side is the molded fibreglass-lined head compartment with separate enclosed full stand-up shower stall, TECMA Easy-Flush porcelain toilet plus vanity with sink and storage. In the mid-cabin, a large U-shaped couch with dual-pedestal table converts into a double berth with storage beneath. A hanging locker is provided as is a privacy curtain. A flatscreen TV for in here is optional.
The cockpit provides lots of seating and entertaining possibilities starting with a double-wide helm seat with flip-up forward bolster. Opposite is a curving passenger lounge seat while the starboard aft cockpit is filled with a J-shaped lounge extending from across and behind the helm seat, down the side and right across the stern to the transom entry gate which provides access to the integrated swim platform. A cockpit table is standard and may be upgraded to a custom teakwood table. Filler cushions are also available for the lounge seat to create a sunlounge.
Across from this lounge is a fully equipped cockpit refreshment centre with sink, combination refrigerator/freezer, ice-maker, and even a built-in blender. A swim platform mounted grill is optionally available. Standard cockpit flooring is snap-in Chilewich Bamboo in your choice of Oat or Chalk. This flooring may be upgraded to two choices of Marine Mat and extended to include the swim platform surface. A transom trunk storage locker is provided.
A hinged radar arch with bimini top and full camper enclosure in your choice of navy, black, or white canvas is all standard. This may be upgraded with an aluminum hardtop. The helm in your choice of Sandstone or Silver Cloud is equipped with a tilt steering wheel, Raymarine C-95 chartplotter, VHF radio, depth gauge, plus controls for the anchor windlass, trim tabs with LED position indicators, remote spotlight, automatic fire extinguishing system, and electric engine hatch.
Audio is provided through a Bluetooth compatible Kicker KMC10 AM/FM stereo complete with Kicker amplifier, subwoofer, Sirius satellite capability, and transom remote control. A Kohler 5 Kw generator with sound shield is standard. Standard power is provided by your choice of twin 350 horsepower 6.2L MerCruiser sterndrives with Digital Throttle and Shift (DTS) and Bravo 3 outdrives or twin 380 horsepower 6.0L Volvo sterndrives with Electronic Vessel Control (EVC) and Duo-Prop outdrives.
The few remaining notable options available for the 370EX include joystick control, MerCruiser Active Trim system, Lenco Auto Glide trim tab control system, foredeck sunpad, forward bow rail opening access, cockpit cover, raw water washdown, and blue LED underwater lighting.
In Rinker’s own words, “370EX express cruiser is the perfect blend of seductive and sensible.”
