The 242DC (Dual Console) is the newest and the smallest of two dual consoles in this Williston, Florida builder’s six model lineup from twenty-one to thirty-three feet. The other four models are also center consoles and the other Dual Console being the 272DC.

The 242DC rides on an unusually wide (for its length) eight foot ten inch beam, and features a smooth entry and soft riding twenty-two degree deadrise deep-vee hull of composite construction that utilizes carbon fiber reinforcing and a vinylester bottom barrier coat. A fibreglass hardtop with white powder coated aluminum framework, four red and white overhead LED lights, three LED spreader lights, and four frame-mounted rod holders is standard. This hardtop may be optionally deleted if so desired.

Fishing amenities abound as four additional gunnel-mounted rod holders are provided along with three more on the transom. Cockpit under-gunnel horizontal rod holders as well as stainless toe-hold support bars are provided. Also standard is a portside in-transom twenty-four gallon insulated and aerated baitwell with cutting board lid, a pair of cockpit in-floor insulated fishboxes with macerated pumpouts, both fresh water and raw water washdowns, and a transom shower. The non-skid inner liner is of course self-bailing.

In addition to fishing amenities, the 242DC also offers many cruising and family-friendly boating features. Flexible seating is a big plus for both of these enthusiast groups. A double-wide foldaway stern bench seat enhances cockpit seating and flexibility, while a unique convertible portside passenger seat with storage below offers both fore and aft-facing seating or lounging. The extra-wide helm seat has a flip-up bolster, fold-down armrests, and storage below.

The center-opening windshield with the standard wind door below provides weather protection to the cockpit plus access to the U-shaped bow seating area. Full surround combing bolsters add comfort and allow forward facing lounging. The removable seat cushions transform the molded seat bases into potential casting platforms while the fully finished, insulated, and drained compartments beneath can be used for dry storage, coolers, or fishboxes. Surrounding low safety rails offer security to bow passengers and a foredeck anchor locker facilitates thru-stem anchoring.

Another large in-floor storage compartment is centred between the two consoles and a standard wet bar with sink, pullout sprayer, cutting board sink cover, trash can, drink holders, and a slide out 35-quart Yeti Tundra cooler immediately aft of the helm seat. The passenger console contains a head compartment with standard solid surface vanity top, sink, pullout sprayer, port lite, and Porta Potti. This Porta Potti may be optionally upgraded to an electric head with holding tank.

The front of the head door features a large molded-in footrest, grab handle, lockable glove box and beside it is a recessed small item storage shelf with drink holders. The black face of the dash is well shaded with an extended padded eyebrow and offers lots of space for your choice of optional electronics as well as Yamaha or Mercury digital engine readouts depending on your choice of power. Power assisted tilt steering through a custom stainless steel wheel with urethane grips and a spinner is standard, as is an in-dash compass and a dual USB/12-volt outlet.

Auto-retract trim tabs with indicators are standard as is a Fusion AM/FM satellite ready stereo with MP3 port, amplifier, and six JL speakers. Four additional dual 12-volt/USB outlets are provided as are dual batteries with switch, blue/white LED courtesy lighting, and even a custom 5-gallon bucket.

A starboard side transom door leads to the fully integrated molded swim platform with extensions flanking the engine(s) with a recessed telescoping boarding ladder with lid within the starboard side extension. Pull-up stainless cleats are standard. Recommended power can be single 300 to 400 horsepower or twin 150 or 200 horsepower from your choice of Mercury or Yamaha.

Notable optional equipment includes full cockpit canvas enclosures with a drop or aft curtain, bow cover, cockpit cover, bow and/or aft shade, anchor windlass, battery charger with cord, cockpit table, premium stereo upgrade, swim platform Sea Dek inlay, underwater lights, stainless steel ski tow pylon, Taco outriggers with carbon fiber telescoping poles, various hull colour, boot stripe, and sheer stripe colour combinations, plus a Raymarine electronics package which includes an Axiom 12 GPS/Plotter, VHF, and transducer, or a Garmin electronics package which includes an 8612 GPS/Plotter, VHF, and transducer.

Blackfin’s new 242DC is well equipped, flexible, and ready for fishing, cruising, exploring, and even watersports depending on your mood at any particular moment.
