If your checklist of ‘must haves’ for your next pontoon boat includes exhilarating fun, performance handling, spacious sun and relaxation spaces, and sporty design, the SunChaser Geneva Sport series might be the answer you are looking for. With models from 21’–25’, the Geneva Sport Series has multiple layouts and a long list of standard features that make the buying process a breeze.

Starting with the inclusion of the X-Treme PR25 Performance Third Tube Package, the Geneva 21 will shatter the myth that pontoon boats can’t perform. The package incorporates lifting strakes to deliver exceptional hole shots, a full underliner to manage water deflection, and hydraulic steering, meaning the captain will be in his or her glory pulling kids on tubes for hours. Rated for up to 200 HP, this 21 rides like a performance-oriented bowrider while offering up the perks of pontoon entertainment.

Dressed in deep blue fencing with sporty black rails and black accent trim, the package looks ready to play while resting calmly at dockside. A low-profile helm console adds to the sportiness of the Geneva, and matching dual high-back helm seats pair beautifully with the front and rear lounging sections.

I stood dockside looking at the Geneva from the wide bow entry door and admired the Sea Weave flooring knowing full well the benefits of easy maintenance and how tastefully the black trim lines in the grey flooring pairs perfectly to provide even more curb appeal. From this vantage, I also caught the tones and textures of the vinyls used throughout her interior and the bow section. SunChaser does a great job of incorporating recessed cup holders into both forward loungers and multiple seat foam thicknesses provides maximum comfort while at rest or underway.

Both captain and co-captain share the same luxury high-back seats. The benefit of unobstructed views comes from swivels on both seats, which also allows you to easily partake in social conversations on every section of the boat. The Geneva helm station is a raised fiberglass design featuring well executed positioning of gauges, toggle switches, and various charging points along with a raised footrest.

The Gussi Italia Verona tilt steering wheel is comfortable to hold and a sporty standard feature on this package.

Rear of the helm on the starboard side, SunChaser incorporates a massive storage compartment — a brilliant solution for storing canvas items like a playpen cover or holding tubes or half a dozen life jackets.

The power bimini is a welcome and appreciated standard feature on the Geneva. This smart technology benefits owners when it comes to bridge clearance, trailering, storage, and more. The power tower is simple to use with the arms ready to deploy in a raised or lowered position, and I found this simple to manage on my own. Taking off the bimini boot and opening the bimini to its full coverage creates a massive shade space for those less inclined to sit in the sun.

The port side, convertible, swingback rear bench offers up a pleasant forward-facing perch while underway, and quickly converts to a rear-facing relaxation experience once chilling on a sandbar or the beach. The massive rear seating area seems even larger thanks to the open design of the transom area, which features side fencing arching down at the end of the lounger and extended flooring to the stern. Cupholders and storage answers are found seemingly everywhere in this interior to really make boating more enjoyable for all guests and crew.

The stern section of the Geneva features an extended rear deck, meaning that the floor extends all the way to the rear of the engine pod. This smartly incorporated additional real estate creates a huge stern platform that easily accommodates guest and crew movement on and off the boat. The ultra-wide stainless steel reboarding ladder matches beautifully with the optional Deluxe Deck Mounted Ski Tow bar on our test boat.

A Yamaha V-Max 175 SHO four stroke was nestled on her transom and was sure to create exceptional performance experiences. The color match of the boat and this sexy engine cannot be understated.

Moving away from the docks with the sun at our backs, the Geneva layout felt roomy and spacious. We were about a 10 minute channel ride to open testing grounds, and this is where we had the opportunity to appreciate the performance features of the 3rd tube package.

I appreciated how confident she rode in various water conditions, how capable she felt in various testing patterns, and how inspiring the Yamaha sounded and felt on her transom.

Today, pontoon boats have the ability and benefit of cornering and handling like a traditional bowrider, while still delivering the advantage of a roomy and stable cockpit. The Geneva Sport series is one of those designs, and its wonderful interior layout is sure to create lasting memories for years to come.
