Boat Review by: Rick Layzell
It’s rare that an entirely new brand arrives on the pontoon boat landscape. It’s even rarer when one lands with such thunder, or creates as many waves of excitement, as Vetta. Brought to you with decades of experience from the team at Legend Boats, Vetta is not a Legend. It is its own brand with its own market position. Vetta is a carefully curated series of exceptional boats designed for the most discerning taste. And Vetta is stunning.
A total of four unique series will be unveiled under the Vetta brand. These will include Kuhl, Kuma, Levata, and Elegans. Progression through the Vetta series will showcase an ever-increasing increase in luxury amenities and features.
We were proud to accept an invitation to explore, experience, and share with you the Vetta Levata 25 CRL.
She is unmistakably magnificent on the docks with her unique fence design and sleek styling. Draped in a smooth matte black fence base that rises to a polished almost metalflake upper fencing, the exterior of the Levata is striking.
Entry happens through your choice of three welcoming gates on the bow, port, or stern, and utilizes a brilliantly unique latching system made from gleaming stainless steel.
Her stylish exterior leads to an interior that takes luxury to a level we have never seen. The cognac ultrafine vinyl is soft and supple, with every lounger and seating position yielding unmatched comfort. The vinyl accents tastefully bring the exterior tones into the interior while playfully pulling in the driftwood flooring accents.
Forward loungers are ‘comfortable’ beyond your wildest imagination with plush high backrests, elevated padding under your legs, and plenty of room to stretch out or share this space with friends. Captain and co-captain are treated to Admiral high back reclining chairs that easily slide, swivel, and recline, not to mention built-in suspension support. I could have spent the day just sitting here.
Her helm carries the cognac color by featuring a raised footrest, soft touch lighted toggle switches, a pair of Simrad screens managing all onboard electronics, hydraulic steering with a three spoke tilt wheel, and a wonderful onboard Fusion Bluetooth system for your favorite sounds. There are two charging pads for your electronics – one at the helm and another below the starboard side bow lounger.
The Blue Ice Lighting Package adds lighted cupholders (which are all raised with grips inside for all sizes of cups), mood lights throughout the interior, and lighted speakers. LED lighting is featured on the exterior fencing and under the rub rail. The bow docking lights are housed in a unique and stylish frame.
The Convertible Rear Lounger offers endless possibilities for relaxation and enjoyment with four individual seating configurations. From chilling and enjoying the action off the stern, to comfortably snacking on a charcuterie board at the beautifully appointed dinette table, the memories are waiting.
Choose to hang out under the user-friendly power bimini, or leave it in its cover and let the sun warm your moment. Watching the kids swim and play off the back of the boat has never been more comfortable.
The extended rear deck gives lots of space to play, to dry off or to plan your next adventure on a tube or skis. The ski tow bar gleams in the sunlight, and a small snack and beverage table resides safely below for refreshments. The ladder on the Levata is made by Lily Pad and easily deploys or is retracted into towing position. The steps on each of the five ladder rungs are wonderfully wide and comfortable.
Pontoon packages in this size range feature full-length center tubes (which create a wonderful in-floor storage solution for water toys and more). Levata also adds a protective under-shield, 6 HPP fins, and nosecone side keels. Oh, and there’s a 250 HP Mercury four-stroke outboard on the transom, too. Forget about the pontoon boats of old that are slow across the water – the Levata flies!
Running the Levata on the shores of Lake Simcoe on a calm September afternoon was glorious. She is handily on plane in under 5 seconds and she rides like she’s on rails. From cruising in the mid to upper 20 MPH range to letting her hair down for an exhilarating 45 MPH top end, she feels perfectly in harmony with the water and the waves.
As Vetta arrives at Canadian dealerships, the brand will bring an upper-level customer experience and an uncompromising level of owner support. The ‘Vetta One’ initiative covers the first year of maintenance, while BoatFix offers up 24/7/365 mechanical support with an exceptional 85%+ solutions rate. Even more, every Vetta is pre-treated with 1 year Vetta Shield Protection. Connectivity is also well thought out as all Vetta models include VesselView for engine and trip data as well as built-in Canadian mapping on the GPS. There’s even a promise of ‘To Your Lake Delivery,’ making the arrival of your new Vetta on your dock an even more celebrated moment.
I have had the pleasure of testing dozens of pontoon boats in a wide range of sizes and configurations, and I can truly say that I have never had more looks of envy or more dockside inquiries than I had with the Levata.
Welcome to Canada Vetta, you’re going to create some very happy owners.
