MOTIVATED to SELL
This well built semi displacement cruiser was manufactured in Bellingham Washington in 1973. Although it's 46 years old, the Salute has been fortunate to have an owner with a background as a mechanic with Finning and the knowledge and understanding to keep his boat in excellent running order, along with the desire and love for being on the water.
The Salute has been actively used and is not one of those boats that never sees much sea time. It's ready to cruise and an ideal boat for a multitude of uses. An aluminum divers ladder is mounted on the fiberglass swimgrid and the cockpit is set up for fishing.
An out of water Marine Survey was conducted on the Salute, May 3rd 2018 [Estimated Market Fair Value of $51,000] and was found to be in good condition and very well maintained. Surveys are available for 2014 and 2007
Re powered in 2004, the twin Volvo-Penta 43 Series six cylinder turbo after cooled, fresh water/heat exchanger diesel engines, deliver 200 horsepower each through Volvo-Penta marine reductions with a 2.43;1, ratio which turn 1 1/4" stainless steel shafts with 17" x 25" bronze three bladed propellors. Both engines have approximately 3500 hours. New dripless shaft seals were installed in 2018.
Two 50 gallon vented fuel tanks are located port and starboard aft of the engines. Fuel is supplied by neoprene fuel lines thru a Racor 500FG Filter/Water Seperator.
Dual station steering [bridge and helm] is thru a hydraulic ram with a tie bar to articulating blade rudders and noted as being in good condition at time of inspection.
New thru hulls seacocks were fitted in 2018 below the waterline and are Bronze ball.
There are 3 bilge pumps - 1 Rule 2000 aft of engine room - 1Rule 2000 amidship and 1 Rule 1100 forward all with Float Switches
The hull if the Salute is constructed with moulded fiberglass with the non skid weather decks and superstructure constructed with cored fiberglass. The hull, house and decks were found to be solid when inspected.
The cockpit is constructed of cored fiberglass with two hatch cover to access the two engines and one hatch to access the steering and transom. Interlocking open rubber mats cover the larger aft portion of the cockpit deck
To starboard in the cockpit is a hydraulic steering helm for the 2006 -9.9 YAMAHA [Model T9.9EXRK] transom mounted outboard motor.
A stainless steel ladder provides access to the fly bridge helm which has a weather cover that reaches aft from the bridge to cover the area directly aft of the cabin bulkhead. The frame for the weather cover is stainless steel.
A Bruce style 15 # anchor is stowed on a stainless steel bow roller platform with 25' of 3/8" galvanize chain with 200' of 1/2" nylon rode stowed in a below deck locker.
There are no signs of Osmotic blistering and in general the overall condition of the hull is good
New shaft tubes were installed and some fiberglass work was done on the keel and insole before the hull was bottom painted in 2018.
