Manufacturer Provided DescriptionThe Monaro 27 SE-SX (Double Cabin) is available in hardtop or soft top, the hard top version being popular among mariners seeking year-round boating. Headroom under the hardtop is a spacious 6 feet 4 inches. The racy lines of this 27-footer incorporate a feature unusual in the size and type of boat, walk-around decks which enable crew to move forward to the bow, and aft to the cockpit with ease. The holding tank is mounted in the bow. The 27's spacious cockpit provides plenty of walk-around room for the sportfishing enthusiast. The hide-away electronics dash means no equipment protruding into the captain or the mate's line of vision. Seats at the helm come in a choice of individual or bench. The bench passenger seat may be located aft of the helm and mate seats which are individual swiveling and fully adjustable. Facing forward they are traveling seats, aft they become social seating around an optional, adjustable and removable table mounted fore of the bench seat. The forward cabin includes standard galley with fridge and stove, available - optional microwave and inverter. Headroom in the 27's cabin exceeds 6 feet 8 inches in the main space. The berths are 6 feet 6 inches in the forward area and the aft cabin has a double bed size berth measuring 78 inches by 52 inches. The V-berth forward serves as a large double bunk or table seating for 4 to 6 people. A stand-up head and shower with a height of 6 feet 3 inches, wash basin and lockers are standard. The engine compartment is large and easily accessed through a large hatch opened by a hydraulic powered lifter. Engine options include single or twin gas or diesel. There is room in the engine compartment for the addition of furnace and other accessories. The fine entry of the bow and seakindly hull design produce a comfortable, dry ride. Built to high standards with solid fibreglass lay-up and fully encapsulated stringers, all inboard wooden components subject to water or spray are fibreglass enclosed. All screws and joinery are sealed against water incursion. Custom building a Monaro lets you choose from a large range of options including long-range fuel and water tanks, additional electronics panel, and special lighting in the hardtop model. A stainless steel radar arch is a popular feature with the soft top model, as is the radar mounting arch on the hardtop model. A large, extended swim step and available transom gate allow easy access from the water. The Monaro 27 will cruise at speeds from 25 mph to 40 miles per hour with top speeds in excess of 45 mph, depending on engine choice. Fuel consumption in a single diesel-powered 27 is as low as 5 gph at cruise.
