The hull is solid hand laid fiberglass with an end grained balsa cored deck for weight savings and strength. The core does not extend to the hull to deck flange. This detail will prevent core saturation where the fasteners that are used to secure the stanchions and toe rail go through the deck. The aluminum toe rails add additional strength and are a convenient place to attach snatch blocks and other hardware. The mast is an custom designed aerodynamically shaped section that C&C developed specifically for this boat.
