bryant calandra side view

The Calandra, at 23-feet, 4-inches length overall on an 8-foot, 6-inch beam, is the newest member of the Bryant fleet of thirteen bowrider models ranging from nineteen to over twenty-six feet. Four of these thirteen models are new for 2016 including not only the sole outboard powered model, but also a dedicated wakesport boat.

The sleek, curvaceous, and modernistic profile of the Calandra comes standard equipped with tri-colour gelcoat hullside graphics which present a most sporty yet classy appeal. The molded and integrated swim platform is protected along its outer edge with a stand-off stainless steel rail useful as an in-water grabrail and augmented by a pair of similar vertically oriented rails on either side of the transom. Pull-up cleats are standard.

A three-passenger aft-facing transom seat is back-to-back with a cockpit stern bench seat leaving a port side walk-thru from the platform to the cockpit. Ahead of this entryway on the port side is another bench seat which forms part of the forward-facing passenger seat utilizing a flip-forward backrest to convert this entire bench into an aft-facing portside lounge.

On the starboard cockpit side is an extra wide driver’s bench seat which is in reality a cozy double-wide and is back-to-back with an aft-facing bench seat. On top of the backrest between these two seats is a pair of handy drinkholders. In fact, the Calandra is fitted with a total of fourteen drinkholders. The driver’s seat may be optionally upgraded with an air assist spring suspension.

Up front through the centre walk-thru windshield is full surrounding bow lounge seating with console backrests and padded, upholstered coaming protection. An anchor storage locker is within the foredeck. All seating provides finished storage beneath the hinged seat cushions. A centre cockpit in-floor watersports accessory storage locker is augmented by a smaller transom walk-thru in-floor storage compartment.

The functional and attractive three-level, tri-coloured dash of the Calandra provides all normal sterndrive instrumentation plus depthfinder and stereo remote. The standard Clarion stereo with CD includes iPod, MP3 and USB inputs plus six speakers. The front of the passenger dash includes a molded-in footrest and it opens for access to the molded enclosed head compartment with molded countertop with sink, vanity and storage.

A bimini top is standard with the Calandra and you can optionally add to that all or portions of a full enclosure, bow cover, cockpit cover, or travel cover. You may also want the optional folding forward wakeboard tower with sunshade. To this you can add fixed or swivel aluminum wakeboard mounting racks with or without blue LED lighting, a pair of Clarion tower speakers or a pair of larger Wet Sounds tower speakers and LED speaker lighting.

You may then want either the Clarion or Wet Sounds main stereo upgrade. Choose also the windshield mounted ski mirror and stainless steel propeller upgrade. And if ultimate watersports enjoyment is a real priority, then choose the GPS-based speed control.

Other options you may wish to consider include a transom stereo remote with LCD display, a transom trim switch, and LED docking and/or underwater and/or cupholder lighting. At the helm, a classy billet aluminum dash accent trim panel package is available as is a polished six-spoke Limited Edition premium steering wheel upgrade.

Consider adding a centre dash Raymarine A65 GPS plotter to which you can add Bluetooth stereo connectivity and/or engine data integration. An electric engine hatch is available as is a bow filler cushion as well as convertibility for the stern/transom seat into a sunpad/lounge. Other items to consider include a side-mount cockpit table, snap-in cockpit carpet or Basketweave, and a windbreak slide-in bow door.

A freshwater system package includes a sink faucet in the head plus a transom shower. Upgrade the head compartment with a Porta-Potty or flush head with holding tank. Metallic hullside gelcoat and accenting is also available. Power for the Calandra is available from MerCruiser or Volvo from 250 to 430 horsepower and with a wide selection of outdrives. You can also choose Volvo’s newest Forward Drive sterndrive in all horsepower offerings. Complete your package with a BoatMate tandem axle trailer with swing-away tongue and lots of features and available options.
