She's not pretty.
This 1995 Maxum 2000 SR has reached the stage in life where flattering camera angles aren't going to help, so we're not even going to try.
The fibreglass is faded.
The upholstery is cracked.
The floor is soft.
The dash has baked in the sun long enough that some of the gauges apparently wish to keep their information private.
If you're looking for a pristine classic bowrider to impress the neighbours, keep scrolling.
However...
Someone forgot to tell the engine that the rest of the boat was getting old.
Under the engine hatch is a MerCruiser 5.0L V8 with Alpha One sterndrive that has been professionally and religiously maintained since new, and mechanically it runs beautifully.
That's the reason this boat is still worth talking about.

The upholstery has seen things.
The floor has developed a little more flexibility than Maxum originally intended.
The gelcoat has lost its youthful glow.
The dash looks like it spent 30 years staring directly into the sun.
And the trailer isn't going to win any beauty contests either.
In other words, this is a project boat.
It would be a great candidate for someone who is handy and wants an inexpensive V8 bowrider to restore, someone looking for a cottage boat where appearance isn't terribly important, or someone who recognizes the value of a properly maintained MerCruiser 5.0L/Alpha One power package.
We could have taken pictures from 30 feet away, wet the boat down, Armor-All'd everything in sight and described it as having "minor cosmetic imperfections consistent with age."
But you've got eyes.
It needs work.
The good news is that the expensive part under the engine cover doesn't.
