2022 GREENLINE 40 HYBRID

Diesel-Electric Hybrid | Approximately 190 Hours

With the price of fuel continuing to be an important consideration for boaters, why not have options?

The Greenline 40 Hybrid gives you the flexibility of conventional diesel cruising combined with quiet electric propulsion and extensive onboard solar generation.

There is no mistaking a Greenline when you see one.

Her distinctive profile, expansive windows and modern design make her a real head turner. She gets noticed at the dock, but what makes the Greenline 40 particularly interesting is what is happening underneath.

This boat is equipped with the additional fourth lithium propulsion battery, increasing total propulsion battery capacity to approximately 53.2 kWh. Combined with the hybrid propulsion system, substantial solar array and extensive Victron energy management, she offers a very different way to cruise.

KEY FEATURES:

  • Twin Volvo Penta D3-220 diesel engines – approximately 190 hours

  • Diesel-electric hybrid propulsion

  • 4 × 13.3 kWh lithium propulsion batteries – approximately 53.2 kWh total

  • 6 × 330-watt integrated solar panels – 1.98 kW total peak output

  • Five-blade bronze propellers

  • Twin fixed stabilizer fins

  • Bow and stern thrusters

  • Simrad navigation package

  • Victron battery monitoring and energy management

  • Spectra 20 GPH watermaker

  • Diesel heating

  • Full wrap-around exterior cover

  • Starlink

  • EPIRB

  • Hue lighting system

  • Bow cushion

  • Two Burnewiin mounting systems

  • Induction cooktop

DIESEL-ELECTRIC HYBRID PROPULSION:

The Greenline 40 allows you to cruise under conventional diesel power when speed and range are required, then switch to electric propulsion when quiet operation is preferred.

With the additional fourth lithium propulsion battery, total propulsion battery capacity is approximately 53.2 kWh.

At economical electric speeds, range can reach approximately 20 nautical miles at around 5 knots, depending on conditions, battery state and onboard electrical demand.

Maximum speed under electric propulsion is approximately 6.5 knots.

Electric propulsion is especially appealing when entering an anchorage, travelling through protected waters or fishing.

You can fish or troll for extended periods under electric power without the diesel engine noise, vibration or exhaust smell normally associated with slow-speed operation.

Volvo engines still covered under the extended warranty until August 2027.

SOLAR, ELECTRICAL & ENERGY MANAGEMENT:

The Greenline concept was designed around making better use of electrical energy aboard, and the large integrated solar array is a major part of that system.

This boat is equipped with:

  • 6 × 330-watt integrated photovoltaic solar panels

  • 1.98 kW total peak solar output

  • 4 × 13.3 kWh lithium propulsion batteries

  • Victron battery shunts and monitoring

  • Victron energy management

  • Dedicated service batteries

  • Dedicated engine-start batteries

  • Dedicated bow and stern thruster batteries

The solar system helps support onboard electrical requirements throughout the day and works together with the large battery capacity to reduce dependence on shore power and engine charging.

SALON:

Large windows are one of the defining features of the Greenline 40.

The salon is bright and open, with excellent visibility in every direction and a strong connection between the interior and the aft cockpit.

The layout works particularly well for Northwest cruising, where the view outside is often just as important as the space inside.

The aft portion of the salon opens directly to the cockpit, creating an easy flow between the two areas.

GALLEY:

The galley is incorporated into the main living space and positioned to work equally well when entertaining inside or outside.

Features include:

  • Induction cooktop

  • Refrigerator

  • Generous storage

  • Practical counter space

  • Convenient connection to both salon and cockpit

The induction cooktop fits naturally with the boat's electrically focused systems.

ACCOMMODATIONS:

The Greenline 40 provides comfortable accommodations for extended cruising without sacrificing the open feel of the main living area.

The layout includes:

  • Forward owner's cabin

  • Guest cabin

  • Convertible salon accommodation

  • Enclosed head

  • Separate shower area

  • Excellent storage throughout

The extensive windows and thoughtful interior layout make the boat feel considerably larger than her overall dimensions suggest.

HEATING:

A diesel heating system makes this boat well suited to Pacific Northwest cruising and helps extend the boating season well beyond the summer months.

HELM & ELECTRONICS:

The single interior helm provides excellent visibility and protection in all weather conditions.

Electronics and systems include:

  • Simrad multifunction displays

  • Simrad radar

  • Simrad autopilot

  • Integrated navigation information

  • Victron system monitoring

  • Starlink

  • EPIRB

  • Hue lighting system

  • Spectra Watermaker system monitoring

Bow and stern thrusters make close-quarter manoeuvring straightforward and are particularly useful when operating short-handed.

SPECTRA WATERMAKER:

A Spectra 20 GPH watermaker adds considerable independence when cruising away from marinas.

For extended cruising, the ability to produce fresh water aboard complements the Greenline's large solar capacity and energy-management systems.

DECK & COCKPIT:

The covered aft cockpit provides a comfortable outdoor living area with easy access to the salon.

A full wrap-around cover can enclose the aft deck and continue forward to protect the side decks, providing considerably more usable exterior space during cooler or wet weather.

The asymmetrical side-deck arrangement provides a wider passage on the starboard side.

Additional exterior features include:

  • Bow cushion

  • Covered aft cockpit

  • Full wrap-around enclosure

  • Swim platform

  • Two Burnewiin mounting systems

  • Full winter cover (Lohman)

The Burnewiin mounts allow accessories such as a BBQ, downrigger, shore-tie reel or other compatible equipment to be quickly interchanged without permanently dedicating the mounting location to one use.

MECHANICAL:

  • Twin Volvo Penta D3-220 diesel engines

  • Approximately 190 hours

  • Diesel-electric hybrid propulsion

  • Five-blade bronze propellers

  • Bow thruster

  • Stern thruster

  • Twin fixed stabilizer fins

The fixed stabilizer fins help improve the boat's stability and comfort while underway.

RECENT SYSTEM UPGRADES:

The boat has benefited from a number of electrical and system upgrades, including:

  • Addition of a fourth lithium propulsion battery

  • Victron battery shunts and monitoring

  • Upgraded battery-management capability

  • Starlink

  • EPIRB

  • Hue lighting system

These upgrades add to an already extensive equipment package and further support the boat's focus on efficient, independent cruising.

A DIFFERENT WAY TO CRUISE:

The Greenline 40 Hybrid is not simply a conventional diesel cruiser with batteries added.

The entire concept revolves around efficiency, quiet operation, solar generation and making better use of electrical energy aboard.

Run under diesel power when you want speed and range. Switch to electric propulsion when entering a quiet anchorage, travelling slowly through protected waters or spending the day fishing.

With the additional fourth propulsion battery and 1.98 kW of integrated solar, this Greenline 40 takes that concept even further.

She gets noticed for her design, but it is the way she operates that really separates her from a conventional cruising boat.
