Boat Review by: Richard Crowder
There are eleven model series in Lund’s Core Fishing category of boats of which three of these eleven have “Pro-V” in their name, specifically, Pro-V, Pro-V GL, and Pro-V Bass. But don’t get them confused as all three Pro-V series of boats are different in appearance and different in purpose. One of the newest members in the extensive Lund lineup, the 2075 Pro-V Bass aluminum tournament fishing boat is the larger of two models in the Pro-V Bass series and is available in two different seating configurations and two different console configurations.
The standard three across bench seating configuration offers storage beneath the flip up contoured bench plus a larger aft casting platform with additional storage within this platform. The four seat “XS” version offers driver and passenger adjustable Pro Ride seats on pedestals plus two flip-up rear jump seats with storage beneath. The cockpit in this version is much larger while the aft casting platform is much smaller. Both versions supply a butt seat plus pedestal seat bases in the bow and stern platforms.
A driver’s side console with full lighted analog instrumentation and windscreen is standard with both seating configurations and a removable passenger side console with windscreen is optionally available. Hydraulic tilt steering is standard with the pedestal seating configuration whereas non-hydraulic tilt steering is standard with the bench seating configuration. All other features are common to both seating configurations.
Some notable standard features designed into the 2075 Pro-V Bass intended to up the fun and serious results quotient in your quest for bass and muskie include a 36-inch long, 28-gallon aerated livewell with autotimer and pumpout built into the aft casting platform. The lockable centre bow in-floor rod storage compartment holds up to fifteen rods up to nine feet long in tubes. On-The-Go rod storage is also standard as is Lund’s proprietary SportTrak coaming along with two standard SportTrak brackets.
Both 12/24 and 24/36 volt bow trolling motor plugs are standard as are stainless steel flip-down cleats, a bow trim switch, a portable cooler with dedicated storage, a three-step folding and flush mounted transom boarding ladder, your choice from five freeboard hull colours, plus a single axle black painted bunk trailer with brakes, swing tongue, and tongue jack. The 2075 Pro-V Bass boat is rated for a maximum 250 horsepower providing a factory rated 61 mph to get you from the ramp to your favourite fishing hole way ahead of the crowd.
Now comes the fun – selecting from Lund’s extensive option list to enable you to professionalize your boat to your heart’s and wallet’s content. Choose from three hullside graphics. In canvas, choose a bimini top, bow rock guard for trailering, and/or a travel cover. Choose a bow or console flush mount (or both) Humminbird or Lowrance GPS/Fishfinder/Sonar. Make your choice of 2, 3, or 4-bank onboard battery chargers. Add a basic stereo or the upgraded Premium Rockford Fosgate version.
Add from an extensive list of available Sport Trak accessories to make your day on the water more enjoyable and stress-free plus perhaps add a snap-in mat and even a ski pylon for some afternoon fun when the fishing is all done. Add some extra ProRide pedestal seats with or without AirRide suspension. Factory pre-rigging for Mercury or Honda power is standard but from there, you may wish to upgrade with specialty analog or Smartcraft instrumentation. You will want to very carefully choose from an extensive list of Minnkota or MotorGuide bow-mounted trolling motors. Finally, upgrade your trailer with accessories or choose a complete upgraded trailer model.
With its patented IPS 2 Hull, Lund’s new aluminum 2075 Pro-V Bass boat is designed to take on the fibreglass bass boats in the shallows or in “the largest and toughest waters.” It certainly has all of the right features and equipment the bass and muskie fisherman needs to get that job done.
