The Angler V18 C is one of eight models in G3’s lineup of riveted aluminum “Deep-Vee” Angler series of fishing boats for 2019. As a side console, it is designed and destined as a serious fishing machine as ardent fishermen prefer a side console given the minimum intrusions to fighting that lunker all around the boat. And the Angler V18 C bristles with all of the necessary accouterments to make that task easier.

It is designed for rough water with its forty inches of bow depth and the 13-degrees of deadrise built into its hull bottom. The riveted three-piece hull construction features G3’s GX² ™ Double-Plated Bow and Bottom utilizing .080 gauge aluminum for both. The transom is all aluminum too. But even though outfitted for serious fishing, the Angler V18 C also offers certain standard and optional features to accommodate family on-water activities.

You can choose either Black Metallic or Burgundy painted urethane for the hull sides complete with custom graphics. Vinyl flooring is standard in the cockpit but you can choose either carpet or vinyl for the bow and stern casting decks. Two high back padded fishing seats are provided standard and may be moved to any of the four floor mounting locations in the cockpit or to the one on the bow platform or to one of two provided on the stern platform.

The two aft cockpit floor mounts will be inaccessible if you choose the highly desirable optional flip down stern jumpseat arrangement which adds two passenger seats when in the up position and doubles the width of the standard stern casting platform when in the down position. Additional fishing seats with pedestals or a bike seat with adjustable pole are optionally available.

Flexible power options are offered to suit your particular requirements. You may choose Yamaha outboard power from 115 to a maximum of 175 horsepower. G3 claims a remarkable 3-second hole-shot to 30 MPH and 50 MPH top speed with only the 150 HP motor so you need to think carefully just how much horsepower you really want. You probably want to select the optional Minn Kota® 24-volt bow-mounted trolling motor and perhaps the optional Yamaha 9.9 HP kicker motor too.

The modern and attractive looking molded driver’s console with an unusually high and effective tinted windscreen is also most functional in design with the driver being pampered with a standard tilt wheel with hydraulic steering. Five Faria gauges provide readouts for speed, RPM, fuel, trim, and volts plus red warning lights for overheating and low oil.

The upper starboard flat surface of the driver’s console will accommodate your choice of three model variations of available optional Lowrance® GPS/fishfinders; the Hook² 4X thru 7 COMBO or the Elite 7Ti through 9Ti screens, or go for the ultimate, the HDS 7 or 9 Carbon units. Your choice will depend on how seriously you take your fishing plus on the nature of the bodies of water on which you fish. The main engine may be trimmed up or down from the dash plus from the bow and the stern.

A long, lockable storage compartment fills the port side of the cockpit while a smaller compartment is found on the starboard side aft of the Yamaha motor control unit. An additional storage compartment is located within the driver’s console. The slanted lid of a storage locker in the face of the bow casting platform immediately ahead of the passenger seat serves as a great footrest for that passenger.

A lockable rod storage locker centered within the bow casting platform features both separating rod tubes (4) plus open storage for rods with larger line guides. The bow casting deck offers three large general storage lockers each with a Roto-molded insert for easy cleaning and with raised outer lips to help prevent water intrusion. There is a fourth smaller general storage compartment plus a port side 35 (US) gallon aerated livewell. A second standard 15 (US) gallon aerated livewell is found centered on the stern casting platform. These livewells are fed by a 500 GPH (gallons per hour) pump. A standard bait bucket is found within the stern casting deck.

Additional standard equipment on the Angler V18 C includes a Bear® powder-coated Black painted Trail Guard® 4-inch tubular steel trailer with locking detachable tongue, a starboard side transom-mounted swim platform with flip-down boarding ladder, automatic bilge pump, accessory track gunnel design, and flip-up mooring cleats. Available notable options include a galvanized or roller trailer upgrade with accessories, an eight foot Power Pole®, and a waterski tow hoop.

The G3 Angler V18 C side console is indeed a most serious fishing machine for the most dedicated fishing enthusiast but it also can double-duty for family-friendly recreational boating.
