Nauticstar 231 hybrid cc main

The 231 is one of four models in NauticStar’s Hybrid series of center consoles. NauticStar, founded in 2002 in Amory, Mississippi, offers a total of twenty-six center console models in four series from 18 to 32 feet plus another five models of dual-console deck boats. NauticStar is part of MasterCraft Holdings, Inc which also builds MasterCraft, Crest, and Aviara boats.

The four Hybrid series models offer a combination of fish-ability, family cruising, and recreation in one package. As with all NauticStar models, the 231 Hybrid is built with one hundred percent wood-free construction. The standard equipment list is relatively comprehensive and a lengthy list of available options allows you to equip your boat to maximize your on-water priorities.

Your first decisions start at the helm. The standard double-wide leaning post with cushion and 94-quart Igloo® cooler beneath may be optionally replaced several ways: a stainless steel locking flip-flop seat complete with the standard cooler; a deluxe low profile leaning post with backrest and options for flip-up forward bolsters, storage, and a footrest; or the same with rod holders and no back. With these latter choices you may then further choose a 65-quart YETI® cooler with tie-down and/or a slide.

Whichever double-wide helm seating you choose, driving will be from the left side via a tilting stainless steel wheel with finger grips and SeaStar hydraulic steering. The sculptured and functional dash comes standard with speedometer, tachometer, fuel gauge, stainless steel DC toggle switches, a radio box, 12-volt accessory plug, two stainless drinkholders, and lots of room to mount navigation and accessory options. A SeaDek® covering on top of the helm console prevents items from sliding off. The curved windscreen is removable. A foot pad is also covered with SeaDek®.

On the forward side of the helm console is an upholstered seat with seatback, beneath which is a standard 15-gallon livewell/baitwell. The front of the console opens to a large storage area which may be fitted with a Porta-Potti. All upholstery is Syntec vinyl with Nano Block stain protection.

The roomy bow area is full U-shaped cushioned seating. Storage/fish boxes are found beneath the port and starboard seats while a standard insulated cooler is beneath the forward seat cushion. The large foredeck housing includes an anchor locker that may double as a casting platform. An optional bow table and filler cushion doubles as a sunlounge, or with the cushions removed becomes a larger casting deck. Optional flip-out backrests convert each side of the bow seating area into stretch out lounge seats.

Across the transom three individual flip-up,/down jump seats provide additional seating plus access to batteries beneath the starboard side seat, to a 27-gallon livewell beneath the centre seat, and to cast net/pail storage beneath the port side seat. When flipped down the three jump seat backs create a handy aft casting platform. There are two stainless steel aft gunnel rod holders and two horizontal rod holders on each side of the cockpit. Standard LED courtesy lighting is provided.

Factory recommended power is a single Yamaha F150XB. The Yamaha Performance Bulletin claims the optimum cruising speed to be about 23 mph at 3500 RPM with a top end of about 45 mph at 6000 RPM. You may further upgrade to the Yamaha 200 or 250 horsepower motors.

Notable additional options include a Sport Package which includes a molded acrylic port side swim platform with SeaDek® appliqué and a recessed telescoping two-step swim ladder, bimini top, and an Infinity® stereo system with Bluetooth capability and four speakers. These options may also be individually selected.

Recreational or fishing enthusiasts can choose single or dual battery switches, a battery charger, trim tabs, trim, water pressure or hour meter gauges, a choice of Simrad® 5, 7, 9, or 12-inch Go touchscreen plotters/fishfinders, a pair of mid-ship side cockpit upholstered bolsters, a washdown system, fresh water system, hullside colour and/or hull accent stripe, colour-matched bimini, powder coated seating upgrade, and a waterski tow tower.

Various T-tops are available including aluminum with black canvas, powder coated with colour-matched canvas, or fibreglass with or without powder coating and LED lights with or without two-tone hull colour matching. Fishing enthusiasts may further choose a livewell recirculation kit, high speed pickup for the aerators, Minn Kota® RT70 or 80 trolling motors, and fishing seats with pedestals and bases.

The NauticStar 231 Hybrid center console can suit your choice of fishing or recreation or both, all in one package.
